(CH/CA) - DIEU EST UN DJ

In the original stage directions of DIEU EST UN DJ, He and She are sitting in the same room, side by side, camera in hand. This is a priori the main questioning: those people who feel the need to stage in their own world, to exhibit in order to exist. Eleven years after the publication of this play by Falk Richter, the bias of the staging of insanë is not to present Him and Her together in one place, but instead of separating them frankly. To install an actor in Montreal and one in Geneva. The cameras and microphones become the only means of communication of these two human beings.

United through a telepresence system using the Internet, the stages of Montreal and Geneva interact simultaneously, in search of a common area. This place, or non-place, is the heart of social questioning of this project, which addresses the new reality of our world that becomes more virtual, with the increasing role played by new technologies in our lives.

In that way, the project challenges a seemingly very rational script with a more sensorial experience.
Dieu est un DJ explores the border between reality and self-staging of the same reality.

DIEU EST UN DJ is produced by insanë Geneva and insanë Montréal.
This project is presented in co-production with the Société des arts technologiques (Society for Arts and Technology) [SAT], a leading place for research, development and dissemination of the digital scene in Montreal.
